About Lura Ketchledge
Horses have been Lura Ketchledge’s passion they have also been her death. In 1979, at the age of nineteen, she was killed in a riding accident. Between life and death, in those few golden moments just before her return, Lura had a dramatic, life shifting Near Death Experience. During her out-of-body experience, Lura states: “I was shown all human beings shrouded in ignorance by design in order to learn hard lessons in each life we live. When you die, the superficial facade falls away and we awaken from the dream into reality.”
This wonderful combination of Near Death Experience, creativity, and burning curiosity into the paranormal collided transforming Lura into an author and paranormal researcher. Lura studied art history at the New School for Social Research in New York City. She worked on ‘The Joe Franklin Show’ late night TV talk show in NYC. Lura studied under Hollywood screenwriter Charles Edward Pogue where she later wrote, produced, and directed her first movie ‘Another Apocalyptic Zombie Movie.’
Lura has been part of the horse world, either owning horses or living on a horse farm for most of her adult life. As an author, Lura completed a fictional book trilogy titled, ‘The Near-Death Saga.’ In each of her books, Lura included a true paranormal event she experienced. Lura Kethledge's haunted horse farm was featured in Time Money Land magazine in 2011. Since 2009, she has been on over 150 national radio shows and written a number of first person articles for a variety of paranormal online magazines. In 2011 she was a featured guest on the reality TV shows ‘My Ghost Story.’ Lura shared her story about the ghost outside her bedroom window in episode 12 of season 2 titled, ‘Haunted Horse Farm.’ In 2012 ‘My Ghost Story Caught on Camera’ invited her back and created a show based Lura’s haunted phone titled, ‘The Ghost-man Always Rings Twice,’ and was episode 69 of season six that aired in August of 2013. She is the only guest on ‘My Ghost Story’ to be invited back to do a second show.
After being seen on CBS, ABC, Fox and NBC news, different teams of paranormal investigators conducted five separate paranormal investigations at her farm. All the teams had positive findings, including audible EVPs, photographs, and multiple documented video of orbs, thereby confirming the validity of Lura’s personal experiences with the paranormal. Lura is considered a well-respected paranormal expert.
